Hurricane Gustav – the seventh named storm of the season – made landfall yesterday (Monday, September 1) near Cocodrie, Louisiana.  As a result, trading in HX7, X72, HP7 and P72 contracts will terminate at 9:00 AM this Wednesday, September 3, 2008 

This storm corresponds to:

·          HX7 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index futures & options on Hurricane Gustav) 

·          X72 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index Binary Contract on Hurricane Gustav)

·          HP7 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index Cat-In-A-Box futures & options on Hurricane Gustav)

·          P72 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index Cat-In-A-Box Binary Contract on Hurricane Gustav)

At this time there is no open interest in any of the futures or options for HX7, X72, HP7 or P72.

·          The final settlement value is 7.2 for HX7 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index futures & options on Hurricane Gustav)

·          The final settlement value is 7.2 for X72 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index Binary Contract on Hurricane Gustav)

In addition, Hurricane Gustav passed through the major oil & gas production area in the Gulf of Mexico prior to making landfall.  Therefore,

·          The final settlement value is 8.0 for HP7 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index Cat-In-A-Box futures & options on Hurricane Gustav)

·          The final settlement value is 8.0 for P72 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index Cat-In-A-Box Binary Contract on Hurricane Gustav)

In addition, the next contract in all four sequences should be listed for trading on Wednesday, September 3, 2008:

·          HX0 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index futures & options on Hurricane Josephine)

·          X02 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index Binary Contract on Hurricane Josephine)

·          HP0 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index Cat-In-A-Box futures & options on Hurricane Josephine)

·          P02 (for CME-Carvill Hurricane Index Cat-In-A-Box Binary Contract on Hurricane Josephine)
